September 3 – One of the greatest products ever presented to the online gambling world by the Cryptologic software giant has been its series of slots games based on the action packed Marvel Comics.
A deal signed between Cryptologic and Marvel Entertainment has seen online casino players enjoy games such as King Kong, Elektra, Thor and Silver Surfer, to name just a few.
A recent news release, however, has Marvel comic slot fans worried that they may not see any new games produced in the future.
It was announced that Disney has paid a whopping $4 billion in both cash and stock for the Marvel brand and there is now a question mark hanging over the future of existing agreements.
Some of the biggest Marvel superheroes are tied into agreements and licensing deals which should not affect them at the moment, but industry analysts are wondering whether Disney would choose not to renew agreements as they expire for its own marketing image.
It is no secret that Disney is a family-entertainment oriented group, better known for its excellent animations and children’s movies.
Disney may, as a strategic move, choose to distance itself from the ‘adult’ side of the Marvel agreements that incorporate elements of online gambling, fearing reprisals and boycotts on its entire business from religious groups and other opponents.
In the meantime, Marvel slot fans can rest assured until 2011 at least, for the duration of the latest Cryptologic deal.
Visit Intercasino.com to play Marvel slots games – unfortunately US players cannot open accounts there.
